Proxy Rally Update No 2

With less than 10 days to go before the first round, the anticipation is certainly building. 9 of the proxy cars have been received with 10 or more due for delivery in the next day or two. Early inspection of the cars has seen a few with some minor issues with regards to conforming to the rules, with tyres outside the guards the main issue. These have all been corrected.
A few people have not been able to fulfill their expected entry, this has seen numbers drop to around the mid 20's. Never the less, the quality and effort gone into the cars received so far is an improvement on last year with some interesting builds in the mix. Gazza has taken a left out of hmcsat's book from last year with a Cartrix powered 4wd entry which is fast but smooth.
2007/08 winner, Devious Dave has re-entered his winning car from last year and it appears to have lost none of its speed. Phoeno has built a Cartrix TX1 powered SCX Hyundai, which appears to be able to hold its own with the faster cars. We have attracted a few overseas entries this year, this time from the USA, Ireland and possibly one other from Europe (TBC).
The biggest and best news of all is we have a few sponsors for the event. Brisbane hobby and slot car store, Red Racer are proud to be involved in sponsoring the event with a number of prizes. The Little Web Company will be supplying the trophies for the first 3, and Technitoys USA (Also known as SCX) have donated a Seb Loeb C4 and a huge SCX Banner which would look perfect in any slot car room.
A new photo gallery will be added to the site soon with all of the entries and a list of specification on each car.
